City Museum of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (MVSQY)

Created in 1977, in a context of the emergence of new towns, the museum of the city of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines is a society museum dedicated to the urban changes of the second half of the 20th century. It retains several corpuses in connection with the history of the territory and the lifestyles of the decades 1960 to 1980. Born from the interest shown in the life of new inhabitants and the development of their homes, its ‘Design and lifestyle’ collection illustrates and documents the evolution of ways of living. This collection is gradually enriched, sometimes with anonymous daily objects, sometimes with pieces signed by renowned designers. It currently has more than 3,200 items.
