Central public establishment for the field of visual arts, the Centre national des arts plastiques (CNAP) contributes to the vitality of the French artistic scene. It enriches, on behalf of the State, the national collection which it retains and values through loans and deposits in France and abroad.

Its design collection brings together nearly 12,000 works from more than 2,200 French and international creators. Covering a wide variety of eras, countries, modes of production and practices, it reflects the vitality and plurality of contemporary design.

The CNAP is a founding member of the National Design Gallery. As such, he puts his collection and his expertise at the service of the curators, and accompanies the service of the audiences of the gallery in its mediation strategy.
